This might be an uncomfortable subject, but I think it is one that should be had. Bulgaria, like many other countries I have traveled to (Turkey, Bosnia, Kuwait), tend to have the squat toilet, not the sitting toilet. This is a conundrum to me because the porcelain plate that you stand on has been installed and has usually been attached to a sewer system so why not just install the sitting toilet? Just beware that these are routinely found in restaurants, bars, and even some tourist attractions though I have never found one in a hotel room. If you find a sitting toilet, enjoy. It might be awhile before you find the next one.
